About the SFWSC (The San Francisco World Spirits Competition)
Established in 2000, the SFWSC is one of the most influential spirits competitions in the world. Marking its 25th anniversary this year, “SFWSC 2025” received more than 3,000 entries. The award ranks are categorized into four levels: “Double Gold,” “Gold,” “Silver,” and “Bronze.” Judging is determined through a rigorous blind tasting by 55 highly experienced experts. The “Double Gold” is awarded to products that receive a gold evaluation and high scores from all panel members. Among the “Double Gold” winners, the top entry in each class is selected as the “Best of Class,” and the highest honor in each category is crowned “Best in Show.”

This authentic Umeshu blends a deep, long-lasting maturity achieved through still aging in storage tanks for over three years with a fruity purée made from whole, fully ripened Nanko Ume, whose ripeness has been enhanced to the limit. It features a rich, mellow flavor from the aging process, a smooth mouthfeel from the ume purée, and a refreshing aftertaste. Available exclusively in overseas and duty-free markets.
At SFWSC 2024, it won the “Double Gold,” the “Best of Class Fruit Liqueur” (the top honor in the fruit liqueur class), and the “Best in Show Liqueur” (the absolute highest honor across all liqueur categories), earning the title of the world’s No. 1 liqueur. This year marks its second consecutive year winning the “Double Gold,” and it has also been nominated as a finalist for the “Best of Class Fruit Liqueur.”
